ABOUT MOKKO
Mokko is an Amsterdam-based design house creating timeless objects with a sculptural presence. Founded in 2017 and led by designer Aad Bos, Mokko is defined by a rigorous creative process where form, proportion, and material guide every decision.
With a commitment to creating future heirlooms, Mokko designs furniture and objects meant to be used, cared for, and lived with over generations. Each piece is crafted in the Netherlands and produced to order.
Mokko collaborates with leading interior design and architecture firms worldwide, supporting international projects through a tailored process from design to delivery.
The collection is available through Mokko’s showroom in Amsterdam, as well as a select number of international showrooms and galleries, including Boon Room (Paris), Love House (New York), and Freeman Gallery (Sidney).
design ethos
Drawing from the simplicity and power of archetypal forms, Mokko’s design language evolves through an exploration of volumes, voids, and the tension between them.
Archetypal elements are balanced, weighed and stripped of excess, until the essence of the inspiration is translated into a sculptural object that is emotionally resonant.
quality and craftsmanship
Quality at Mokko is defined by longevity. Materials and constructions are selected to support structural integrity, precision, and the ability to age gracefully over time. All solid wood is certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Each piece is designed and crafted with care and repair in mind, allowing it to be maintained rather than replaced.
CUSTOM MADE IN THE NETHERLANDS
Every piece of furniture is custom-made by skilled artisans in the Netherlands, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and the preservation of expert craftsmanship.
Working with local craftspeople allows Mokko to remain closely involved throughout the creation process, upholding uncompromising quality and authenticity in every object.
aad bos - founder
Mokko was founded in 2017 and is led by Aad Bos, the designer responsible for the studio’s creative direction and design language.
His work is shaped by an ongoing engagement with the built environment, drawing from architectural forms across eras, places, and cultures. These references are translated into tactile, sculptural objects defined by clarity, restraint, and long-term relevance.
