Taes Collection at BOON_ROOM X A-N-D, Milan Design Week 2025

Parisian gallery Boon Editions and Vancouver-based lighting design studio A-N-D presented a show of collectible design throughout two levels of a former bank at Via San Vittore al Teatro, including in the defunct vaults.

The collection draws inspiration from the majestic sloping-sided architectural platforms, historically used for religious, ceremonial and defensive purposes. In stacked form, the platforms raise monuments such as pyramids and temples. Single platforms were used as foundations of buildings and defensive structures.

COLLECTIBLE BRUSSELS 2025

Experimental in its approach, COLLECTIBLE is a one-of-a-kind platform for the showcase and discovery of the best in contemporary collectible design. Seeking to continuously push the boundaries of creativity, the fair brings together established and emerging galleries, design studios, independent makers and brands in a dynamic integrated space, while collaborating with leading curators, design institutions and foundations to deliver groundbreaking commissions and curated projects.

Focused on today’s creation, COLLECTIBLE strives to only showcase high-quality and well-researched objects which reflect the latest currents. In order to keep COLLECTIBLE's concept coherent, works presented are either unique pieces, bespoke commissions or limited editions, pieces are functional or have functionality in mind during the process and all works need to have been produced recently, while premieres are favoured.

At COLLECTIBLE, Parisian gallery BOON ROOM launched Mokko’s Taes collection and Mokko joined group exhibition Show Not Show with a selection of recent objects.

framework studio - residential project

Nestled in Amsterdam’s vibrant Museum neighbourhood, Framework Studio have crafted an apartment for a young family of three characterised by sinuous forms, authentic materials and elements of surprise.

‘De Hooch’ is situated within an innovative residential building conceived by MVSA Architects, marked by its dark rounded facade and verdant balconies. Drawing inspiration from this distinctive setting, Framework Studio have created an interior with curved walls and strong nods to the leafy streets beyond.

Dutch Design Week 2024 - Group exhibition - Show Not Show

De Kruisruimte, a cultural center boasting studios for artists, musicians and designers, presented “Show Not Show,” with the impetus of pulling back the proverbial curtain to show not only finished products, but the process of creation as well. Frank Pender’s contribution included his new furniture collection that seemed to take a cue from Isamu Noguchi’s famed sheet metal sculptures drawing from natural shapes and experiments in the surface patina of steel from the 1980s. Pender’s “StepSlide” took a Noguchi-esque playground approach, adding the flourish of a slide to the opposite end of a set of practical looking stairs. Meanwhile, the dramatic angles and torquing of a single sheet of metal for his “ONE Rise” chair recalled the curves and implied motion of a Futurist sculpture.
